Background
Daphnia was originally established
in May of 1999 by three partners, including current partners
Eric Koskinen and Jung Lee. For two years, the firm was located
near Boston, Massachusetts and focused on providing clients
with custom web development services, ranging from web site
design to ecommerce solutions. One of its primary clients
was GCorp, Inc., a subsidary of biological technology company
MJ Research, consisting of over 200 employees.
In May of 2001, the firm relocated
to New York, New York and was reestablished as Daphnia, L.L.C.
Since its move, Daphnia has both greatly expanded technical
expertise, as well as developed key business approaches to
accomplishing client goals. By continuously taking on larger
and more diverse projects, Daphnia became well versed in
technology consultation, and marketing plan development,
as well as project management.
Currently, Daphnia is working with
a number of other firms on large scale projects for several
medical clients. Daphnia's proprietary Content Management
System (CMS) is being deployed to provide hospitals and medical
organizations with an ability to manage web site content
internally without the high cost of an IT web staff. Additionally,
Daphnia is working with a partner company to provide a top
financial firm with a database-driven web application to
be deployed as an ASP (application service provider) service. |
